Alejandro Montes

Alejandro Montes. Is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. He graduated in Sociology at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in 2013 and earned a Master in Social Policy, Labour and Welfare in the same university (2014). Since 2013 is a member of the research group on Globalization, Education and Social Policy (GEPS-UAB).
He is an official member of the research team of R+D project “El abandono escolar prematuro en España. Un análisis de las decisiones, motivaciones y Estrategias educativas de los jóvenes (ABJOVES)” and also part of the evaluation team of “Magnet. Alianzas para el éxito educativo”. He is a member of the Barcelona team in the Horizon 2020 project called "Policies Supporting Young People in Their Life Course European project. A Comparative Perspective of Lifelong Learning and Inclusion in Education and Work in Europe (YOUNG_ADULLLT)". He has published and participated in various national and international journals and conferences.
The provisional title of his thesis is: "Young at the crossroads. Factors release and reclose in the educational trajectories of success "and its main areas of interest are: early school leaving and educational return; analysis of educational paths, specifically in access to higher education, and the impact of inequalities in them.
